Car rides and challenges

Last night I had a long chat with a friend, one of those chats that only work on drives.

Actually that's not true but they are much better on drives.

At one point we started talking about "living". 

But to understand living, let me backtrack. 

San Diego

You are pleasantly laid-back and you seem to have #SoCal blood in you. San Diego is your lovely home.

That was the result from one of those quizzes that have been floating around online. Yes, they are silly and yes, I still take those quizzes. We don't judge, we just acknowledge and accept. 

The point is: I'm pretty laid-back, yeah, I still get my back up sometimes, but I'm pretty chill. 

So back to my car chat. 

My friend, well, my friend is very driven. Very driven. 

I am less so.

So in that aspect, we are complete opposites. 

Don't get me wrong, girls, I know how to work, I have goals, plans, I'm figuring out where I'm going and how to get there. 

I also know how to "stop and smell the roses" (which makes me think of the travel gnome). 

So that's what we talked about. 

I gave him a challenge to take some time every day and do something for himself that wasn't demanded of him or that could be used in some competitive way.

We'll see if he takes it.
